Sekab

Sekab produces chemical products based on ethanol. We manufacture acetaldehyde, ethyl acetate, acetic acid, bio-based motor fuels and ethanol for various technical purposes.

Health and safety are our highest priority. It is therefore important that you follow the safety rules in the area.

Sekab affects the environment in different ways. Some of the significant environmental aspects of the operations are:

• Emissions of hydrocarbons into air due to the handling of ethanol, for example.
• Environmental impact from road vehicle and boat transports.
• Hazardous waste generation.

In your work, you can help minimize environmental impacts by paying attention to and avoiding spillage as far as possible, together with sorting any waste in the right container. Ask your contact if you are unsure.

Smoking is prohibited in the area. Mobile phones and other electronic equipment that are not ex-rated may not be included in ex-classed areas. Mobile phones may be used in your own vehicle. Engine idle running is forbidden and 30 km/h speed limit applies. Alcohol and drugs are prohibited, tests are carried out randomly or in case of suspicion. All emergency showers are alarmed to the control room. If you are using an emergency or eye shower, stay where you are. Help is on its way.

Full length clothing should always be worn. Reflective jacket or vest, protective shoes and protective helmet are mandatory protective equipment. You also need to wear protective goggles and protective gloves when working with chemicals.
